Cheryl the Peril

The appointment of Cheryl Gillen as Shadow Secretary of State for Wales is a yet another snub to the principality. Cameron's decided that none of his Welsh MP’s are up to the job, so has parachuted in a failed former Government Minister to the most senior position in the Welsh Conservative Party, even her old friend Iain Dale is questioning her appointment.

When Cheryl the Peril was a Minister in John Major’s Government, she said: “The introduction of a national minimum wage… would strike at the heart of the job opportunities that would be available”. Being from Buckinghamshire, perhaps she doesn't realise that the salaries of over 80,000 people in Wales have increased since... yes, you guessed it, the introduction of the National Minimum Wage!
